In short
  • Booking an appointment means you accept these terms and the cancellation policy.
  • You must tell us about allergies, conditions and medication that affect a service. Withholding that is the one thing that genuinely puts you at risk.
  • We can decline or stop a service where it would be unsafe — and you are not charged for a service we decline.
  • Beauty services are not medical treatment, and nothing on this website is medical advice.
  • Florida law governs these terms.

This summary is for orientation only — the numbered sections below are the policy that applies.

1. Accepting these terms

These terms form the agreement between you and Mazur Studios LLC. You accept them when you do any of the following:

  • Book an appointment, in person, by telephone or through this website
  • Pay a deposit
  • Receive a service at the studio or at a location we travel to
  • Use this website

If you do not accept them, please do not book. If something in them does not work for your situation, raise it before your appointment rather than after — most things can be discussed.

2. Who can book

You must be 18 or over to book on your own behalf. Clients aged 13 to 17 may be treated where a parent or guardian books, gives written consent, remains on the premises throughout and accepts these terms on the minor's behalf. Some services are not offered to under-18s at all; we will say so when you enquire.

You must be able to give informed consent at the time of the appointment. We will not perform services on anyone who appears to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs to the point that consent or stillness is compromised.

3. What we provide — and what we do not promise

We provide the beauty services described on this website, performed with reasonable skill and care, using products and techniques appropriate to your features and stated preferences.

What we cannot promise is a specific outcome. Results depend on things outside our control: your natural lash cycle, the condition and porosity of your hair, the state of your nail plate, your skin's behaviour on the day, how closely aftercare is followed, and the weather. A reference photograph is a direction of travel, not a guarantee — and part of the consultation is telling you honestly how close to it we can realistically get.

Where we believe a requested result is not achievable or not advisable on you, we will say so before starting, and offer the closest alternative we can stand behind.

4. Booking, deposits and payment

Booking terms in full are set out in the booking and cancellation policy, which forms part of these terms. In summary:

  • A submitted booking form is a request. Your appointment exists once the studio confirms it
  • A deposit secures the slot and is deducted from the final total
  • The balance is payable at the end of the appointment
  • We accept cash, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, PayPal and cheque

Prices shown on this website are starting prices. Your exact quote is confirmed in writing before the appointment, and it does not change afterwards unless you ask for additional work on the day.

5. Your responsibilities

There are a small number of things only you can do, and the safety of the service depends on them.

  • Disclose. Tell us about allergies, sensitivities, skin or nail conditions, eye conditions, recent procedures, medication affecting the skin, and any previous reaction to a beauty product or adhesive — including ones you think are irrelevant. This is the single most important obligation in this document.
  • Patch test when asked. Where we recommend a patch test, we cannot proceed without it. Declining one means declining the service.
  • Arrive prepared. Clean skin, no fresh sun damage, and for nail services no product we were not told about.
  • Follow aftercare. Written aftercare is given at every appointment. Retention and longevity complaints that trace back to aftercare are not grounds for a redo.
  • Speak up during the service. If something stings, burns, feels hot or simply looks wrong, say so at that moment. Almost everything is easy to adjust mid-appointment and much harder afterwards.
  • Bring the right company. The studio is one small room. Please do not bring additional guests or children who need supervision unless it has been agreed in advance.

6. When we may decline or stop a service

We may decline to start, or stop partway through, where:

  • There is a visible infection, inflammation, open wound or contagious condition in the treatment area
  • A contraindication in the health and safety policy applies
  • A required patch test was refused, or produced a reaction
  • Information given to us turns out to be inaccurate in a way that affects safety
  • Behaviour towards the studio owner is abusive, threatening, discriminatory or intoxicated

If we decline before starting, you are not charged and any deposit is returned. If we stop partway through for a safety reason, you are charged only for what was completed. If we stop because of abusive behaviour, the deposit is retained and the studio may decline future bookings.

7. Photography and portfolio use

Photographs are taken only with your consent, recorded per appointment. Consent to be photographed is not consent to be published — the two are asked separately, and you may agree to one and not the other.

Where you consent to publication, you grant the studio a non-exclusive, revocable licence to use the image on its own website and social media accounts to show its work. You are not paid for this, and you can revoke it in writing at any time; the studio's own copies come down within seven days.

You are welcome to photograph and share your own results. A credit or tag is appreciated and never required.

8. Gift certificates

  • Valid for one year from the date of issue unless a longer period is stated on the certificate
  • Transferable to another person, but not exchangeable for cash
  • Redeemable against any service; if the service costs more, the difference is payable on the day
  • If a service costs less, the remaining balance stays on the certificate for future use
  • Lost certificates can be reissued where the purchase can be verified from studio records
  • Appointments booked with a gift certificate are subject to the same cancellation policy as any other booking

9. Website content and intellectual property

The text, layout, code, generated imagery, logo and photographs on this website belong to the studio or are used with permission. You may read, print and share pages for your own personal, non-commercial use.

You may not copy substantial parts of the written guides for republication, present the studio's images as your own work, or use the studio's name, logo or content in a way that suggests endorsement or affiliation that does not exist.

Quoting a short passage with a link back is fine and welcome.

10. Acceptable use of this website

Please do not attempt to interfere with the site: no automated scraping at a rate that burdens the host, no probing for vulnerabilities, no attempt to inject content through the forms, and no use of the contact form to send bulk or unsolicited commercial messages.

The forms exist so that clients can reach a small business. Misusing them is not a technical curiosity; it takes time away from someone's working day.

11. The information on this site is not medical advice

The journal articles and service pages describe general beauty practice. They are written carefully and reviewed before publication, but they are general information, not personalised advice, and certainly not medical advice.

Beauty services are cosmetic. They do not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any medical condition. If you have a skin, nail, eye or scalp condition that concerns you, see a physician or dermatologist — and please do that before booking rather than instead of booking.

Do not delay seeking medical attention because of something you read here, and do not stop or change prescribed treatment on the basis of a beauty guide.

12. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. Within that boundary:

  • The studio is liable for loss caused by its failure to perform a service with reasonable skill and care
  • The studio is not liable for a reaction arising from information you did not disclose, or from declining a recommended patch test
  • The studio is not liable for results affected by aftercare that was not followed, or by treatment performed elsewhere before or afterwards
  • The studio is not liable for indirect or consequential loss — for example the cost of an event you attended, or lost earnings
  • Where the studio is liable, its liability is limited to the amount you paid for the service concerned, and to correcting the work where correction is possible
  • Personal belongings brought to the studio remain your responsibility

13. Complaints and corrections

If you are unhappy with a result, tell us within seven days so we can look at it while it is still fixable. Come back to the studio if you can — a photograph rarely shows what a chair does.

Where the issue is something we did, correction is free. Where it is a change of mind about an agreed design, or the result of aftercare or another salon's work, we will quote for the correction honestly and without judgement.

See the cancellation policy for refund positions.

14. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, and the courts of Palm Beach County have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.

Before anyone goes near a court, we ask that you raise the matter with the studio in writing and allow 30 days for a response. Most disagreements between a client and a one-person studio are the result of a misunderstanding that a conversation resolves.

15. General

  • Whole agreement. These terms, together with the cancellation, health and safety and privacy policies, are the entire agreement between us, and they replace anything said informally beforehand.
  • Severability. If any part is found unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.
  • No waiver. If we do not enforce something on one occasion, that does not stop us enforcing it later.
  • Changes. Updated terms appear on this page with a new effective date. The version in force when you booked is the version that applies to that booking.
  • Transfer. You may not transfer your rights under these terms to someone else without our agreement, except where a gift certificate is passed on as described above.

These documents work together. Where one is more specific than another, the more specific one applies to the situation it covers.
