Makeup here is built to be photographed and to survive a South Florida evening — two goals that quietly conflict. Heavy coverage photographs beautifully and slides by nine o'clock. Lightweight formulas last and disappear on camera. The work is finding the layer structure that does both.
What the appointment covers
Every application begins with skin: a short assessment of texture, oil pattern and any active concerns, followed by prep chosen for that reading rather than a fixed routine. Only then does colour go on.
- Consultation, including reference photos if you have them
- Cleanse, hydrate and prime with products matched to your skin type
- Complexion, eyes, brows and lips, adjusted in daylight as we go
- Strip or cluster lashes if you want them, included in the price
- Setting routine chosen for the humidity on the day
- A written note of every product used, so you can buy or skip as you prefer
Looks we do most often
Soft glam — a polished, slightly diffused eye with a clean complexion. The most requested look for dinners, birthdays and photographs.
Natural daytime — corrective rather than transformative. Evens tone, defines the eye and brow, and reads as very good skin rather than as makeup.
Editorial and colour — graphic liner, cut crease, saturated pigment. Best booked with extra time and a reference image.
Long-wear event — the heaviest-duty version, layered for outdoor ceremonies, dancing and eight-hour wear.
Private makeup lessons
A lesson is not a demonstration you watch. You do the application; the artist coaches. Bring your own kit — that is the point of the session.
- Kit audit — what suits you, what is the wrong undertone or texture, what to replace and what is genuinely fine
- One face, two halves — the artist does one side, you mirror it on the other
- Technique focus — blending, placement for your eye shape, and the two or three habits doing the most damage to your result
- Written routine — a five-minute version and a twenty-minute version, both using products you already own where possible
Lessons run 90 to 120 minutes. Most people need one; a follow-up six weeks later is optional.
Making it last in Florida
Humidity does not simply melt makeup — it prevents the surface from drying, so the skin's own oil mixes with product and migrates. The countermeasure is not more powder. It is a prep layer that grips, thin build-up rather than one thick pass, and a setting spray with film-formers rather than pure alcohol.
The full method is written up in the journal: Skin Prep 101.
